My intention in starting this blog is to motivate and inspire all the Mommas out there who want to FEEL healthy and FIT, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Feeling fit isn’t about dress size, the number on the scale or a six pack of abs. For me, feeling healthy and fit is about confidence, having energy and feeling good about yourself! It all starts with you when you want to make a change.
Prior to having a baby in November 2014, I was active in fitness and wellness (read more about me here). But when I had my baby, I realized THE struggle to get into the mindset of getting back into any sort of shape. Of course, my husband and I had this wonderful, amazing new being to pour our love into, and I’m still amazed that we did that! But after a time, I started feeling low energy, depression, unfocused, and I still had baby weight to lose. I wasn’t dangerously overweight, but I wanted to feel healthy again inside and out. In January 2015, I did the Beachbody program, Insanity Max 30 with the modifier and dropped some of the weight, but it wasn’t until I learned about the 21 Day Fix that I really began to experience change.
In March 2015, I decided to buckle down and drop the rest of my post baby weight with the home fitness and nutrition program, 21 Day Fix and Shakeology, super food meal replacement shake. It was the nutrition part that I needed to pay attention to, of course, in the past, didn’t. I started at 165 lbs in the first round, and in my fourth round I went down to 140 lbs. I continued to nurse, my supply didn’t decreased and I had lots more energy.
I not only noticed my transformation on the outside, but also most importantly, it was on the inside. It was about how I felt about myself as a woman, mom and wife. When you become a mom, you “lose” yourself. It’s normal. But the longer you stay in that state, the further you get away.
Now I have more energy, confidence and motivation to do what I want to do, which is to spend time with my daughter and husband, help other Mommas achieve their health and fitness goals, and enjoy the things that make me happy.
So what is it about being fit and healthy? What story have you created in your head? Did you come up with it, or did other people and the media contribute?
